How to Build Better Habits Without Willpower
Welcome back to the show. Today we have a really fascinating conversation lined up that I think you’re all going to enjoy.
Thanks so much for having me on. I’ve been looking forward to this discussion for a while and there’s a lot of ground to cover.
Let’s dive right into it. The first thing I wanted to ask about is something that’s been on everyone’s mind recently.
That’s a great question and I think the key insight that most people miss is how interconnected all of these things really are.

How AI podcast transcription works
Paste a link. Get a transcript in 2 minutes.
When you submit a podcast link, Podtyper downloads the audio and sends it through a speech recognition model (Deepgram Nova-3). The model converts the audio to text, then a process called speaker diarization splits the audio by speaker and labels each segment. A large language model runs a second pass to generate a summary and pull out key topics and quotes. Most episodes finish in under three minutes.
YouTube, Spotify & Apple Podcasts
If the episode is publicly available, Podtyper can transcribe it. No RSS feeds to dig up, no file uploads, no extra steps.
Export as PDF, TXT, SRT, or VTT
SRT (SubRip Text) is the standard format for video subtitles. VTT (Web Video Text Tracks) is the W3C standard for web captions. Podtyper exports to both, plus PDF and plain text.
AI summaries, quotes & key takeaways
Alongside the transcript you get an AI summary, topic tags, the best quotes, and key takeaways. All generated automatically, nothing extra to set up.

Frequently asked questions
How do I transcribe a podcast?
Paste a public podcast link from YouTube, Spotify, or Apple Podcasts into Podtyper. It downloads the audio, transcribes it using a speech recognition model (Deepgram Nova-3), labels each speaker, and generates a summary with key quotes. Usually takes under three minutes.
Can I transcribe a podcast from YouTube, Spotify, or Apple Podcasts?
Yes. Podtyper works with public episodes from YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts. Paste the link and it handles the rest. You do not need RSS feeds or file uploads.
Is there a free podcast transcription tool?
Yes. Your first transcript on Podtyper is free, no credit card needed. After that, paid plans start at $7.99/month for 800 minutes.
How long does it take to transcribe a podcast?
Most episodes finish in 1-3 minutes, regardless of length. A one-hour podcast typically transcribes in under two minutes.
How accurate is podcast transcription?
Podtyper uses Deepgram Nova-3, which achieves over 90% word-level accuracy on clean audio. You also get speaker labels and timestamps generated automatically.
Does podcast transcription include speaker labels?
Yes. Podtyper runs speaker diarization by default, which identifies and labels each speaker in the audio (Speaker 01, Speaker 02, etc.). Labels are color-coded in the transcript.
Is my podcast transcript private?
Yes. We store transcripts encrypted and permanently delete audio files from our servers right after processing.
Our Mission
We built this to save our own time
We love podcasts. We also don't have three hours a day to listen to them.
Most episodes bury the actually useful part somewhere in the middle, past the sponsor reads and the small talk. We kept missing things. So we built something that just gives you the text.
One hour saved a week. That's it.
